Headquartered in Burgdorf, Switzerland, the Ypsomed Group is a leading developer and manufacturer of injection and infusion systems for self-medication and a renowned diabetes specialist with over 30 years’ experience.
The company employs close to 1,700 people and operates a global network of manufacturing sites, subsidiaries, and distributors.
Ypsomed partners with pharmaceutical and biotech companies for the supply of pens, autoinjectors, and infusion systems to administer liquid drugs. The company promotes and sells its product portfolio directly to patients or through pharmacies and clinics, and as business-to-business to pharmaceutical companies.
With both B2C and B2B operations on such a large scale, Ypsomed needed to find a digital tool that would efficiently streamline project and product management at the company, in addition to facilitating cross-team collaboration.
We spoke with Uwe Repp, Data Center Manager at the company, about Ypsomed’s experience with Kantree up to this point and plans for future use.
What made you choose Kantree over other tools?
We chose it for various reasons. Kantree can be configured easily and quickly and also be easily adapted to new requirements. Furthermore, we immediately liked the design and user experience. Last but not least, Kantree offers a good price-performance ratio.
How do you use Kantree in your daily operations at Ypsomed?
We use Kantree for daily task processing, as well as managing smaller projects and use cases. We use it for release management and software packaging, within and across teams. In the near future, additional departments such as HR or Marketing will be using Kantree too, for example to manage events.
How has Kantree helped you solve a challenge?
By using Kantree, we were able to achieve an overview of the variety of topics in our teams, increase work transparency, balance the workload of our employees, and create acceptance. Kantree helps each of us be better organized and promotes collaboration within and across teams, as we work on projects using the same tool.
Kantree also supports us in the planning and coordination of the software packaging process. Recently, we were able to set up release management very easily and efficiently thanks to Kantree. With the reports, we can now quickly create summaries that are appropriate for the management.
What are the most helpful Kantree features or workflows?
We appreciate it very much that Kantree can be easily adapted to new circumstances. We also value the multitude of reports that are created by the KQL and which have become indispensable in our daily business operations.
