Context

Terrell Group is an engineering company recognized in France and abroad for its technical expertise in the fields of structures, fluids, and facades. Founded in 1982, it now has 110 employees spread across 4 offices: Paris, Toulouse, London, and Beirut.

What was the situation before Kantree? What problems were you encountering?

The starting point was the need to have a project management tool because everything was done using Excel until then.

The limits of Excel are felt in the non-existent collaboration possibilities and the numerous manual entries.

A Terrell Group employee was thus tasked with benchmarking existing tools on the market. The specifications were simple, the tool had to meet the following criteria:

  • easy to use / easy for the business to adopt
  • ergonomic
  • need for flexibility to allow for increased customization
  • bonus: a tool created and administered in France

After testing various existing project management products, Kantree was chosen.

Let’s now see why and how Terrell has been using Kantree daily since its beginnings in 2019.

The use of Kantree in engineering teams

Kantree’s flexibility has allowed them to organize teams in a macro way. Team members can now have visibility project by project.

In more detail, project members have a view for different phases of the project. This organization allows easy navigation between different views such as planning, Kanban, list,… in order to easily find data.

Gradually, the use of Kantree has extended to other applications. Indeed, it allows centralizing prospect management, won opportunities, and has become a true knowledge center for centralizing shared resources. Moreover, having several offices in different cities, Kantree provides visibility on different projects to other offices.

The benefits following the use of Kantree

Kantree has unlocked the field of possibilities compared to the initial situation in several aspects.

First, Terrell Group has a greater ability to adapt to changes. It is now easier to move tasks to reorganize, making them gain in flexibility and reactivity.

As an engineering company, they were able to save time on management thanks to the various shared schedules made possible by the timeline view.

Moreover, the use of customizable filters (thanks to the Kantree Query Language) allows them to display very precise and personalized information depending on the chosen context.

The resource centralization function helps energize the team. Indeed, this knowledge center is a kind of virtual coffee machine where colleagues tag each other and exchange, even when working fully in-person.
